BRAVO EVERYONE ON A JOB VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!

BRAVO

December 14, 2018

Dear Mrs. Davidson and the member of the 4th grade Youth Chorale and
Mini-Singers,

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you on a spectacular concert
last evening!

I simply loved your energy and the passion with which you sang the songs.

Incorporating the poems and musical instruments into the performance
made the pieces even more wonderful. I attended one of the  rehearsals when

students were just learning the hand game that was performed last night.

I cannot tell you how terrific this looked to the audience!

I am mindful that a fabulous performance does not happen by accident.

It happens because of thoughtful choices of music, hard work, lots of practice
and a true love of singing.

Thank you for it all!

Congratulations and once again… Bravo!

Fondly,

Dr. Hart

Narrations, Welcome, Thank You and Poems to practice for the Winter Concert. Enjoy!

2018 Elementary Winter Music Celebration

Bonsai Aba- Ailish
Bonsai Aba, a Zambian folk song,
has become one of our favorite songs to sing.
With energized choreography, this “call and response” song gives the choir
the opportunity to freely move to traditional gestures and to
perform stylized chant-like singing.

Welcome………………………………………………..Judah Jackson

Good Evening Friends and Family.
Thank you for being here with us tonight.
We are the members of the Jenkintown Elementary School Choir.
Both the 4th Grade Youth Chorale and Mni-Singers have worked very hard;
learning our music, choreography, as well as working together as a community.
We are very excited to share our program with you.
Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Poem #1 Nothing to Compare………………Laila Hatcher

Like a little girl squeezing her teddy bear
So soft and sweet,
Like a little boy and his toy truck
With no one can compete,
Like a cat lover and their cats
Snuggled together so tight
Like a dog lover and their dogs,
Always ready to play and fight.
Like the holidays we love so much
So warm and filled with glee,
Like the warm weather and bright sun
That we love to see.
There are lots of things in our lives
To help us feel warm and snug
But nothing can ever compare
To a family’s love.

Nino Querido Spanish Folk Song-SophiA Maneely
“Sleep Little Baby, cozy and warm.
Here in your mother’s arms, safe from all harm”.
Nino Querido has challenged our singers with its two part
harmonies and changes in key.  Listen to the way the music sounds
like it is rocking a baby to sleep.

Poem #2   Sunshine……………………Dawn Marie Kotasenski

Sparkling rays of golden cheer
Fill the air throughout the year.
When you find it, you will hear
The sound of laughing somewhere near.

Tue, Tue-Ghanaian Folk Song-Eva Getty
Tue, Tue has become one of our favorite songs to perform.
We have created a fun dance that fits perfectly with
the rhythm of the song.  The percussion players had just that extra “spice” to
create a very special musical moment.

Poem #3 Leaves……………………………………..Luca Stevens
It starts as a seed planted in the yard.
But soon is a sapling with one tiny leaf.
As the tree grows, lots more leaves appear.
It gets higher and higher and touches the sky!
Then, one day I wake to a world of leaves twisting and
Twirling up high.
It’s fall! It’s fall!!
I pull on my coat and jump into my boots.
I’m ready to go out and play.
I run out the door and am instantly covered with leaves.
This is the best day ever!

When I Grow Up-from the Broadway Musical “Matilda”
                                                                                                   Aniya Johnson

Every so often, there is a song that shines within a musical
production.  The song “When I grow Up” is just one of those songs.
The lyrics share the yearning of a young person wanting to
become an adult; to be able to eat whatever they want,
when they want, and to do most anything.  Well, maybe
being a kid is still a better option.

Poem #4 Colors……………………………………………Caleb Smith
Red is the color of anger
Welling up inside of me.
Orange is the color of fun
And all my happy energy.
Yellow is the color of the sun,
Which makes me feel happy and warm.
Green is the color of giggles and laughs,
Midnight feasts during a winter storm.
Blue is the color of calm and cool,
Like swimming in the summer pool.
Purple is the color of artsy ideas
Crayons and pencils and paint.
Pink is the color of blushing and happy,
Love and kisses and all stuff that’s sappy.
Colors describe how we feel every day.
So listen to colors
They’ll help you find your way.

Rainbow Connection-Alana
One of our beloved Muppet characters, Kermit the Frog,
sings of his favorite song, reminding us that we are all special,
and are as beautiful as the colors in a rainbow.

Poem #5 Peace Out!...........................................Evan McCall

Peace is everywhere but we
May not see it
It is pushing us to embrace peace
And embrace who we are
Just like peace, your true self
Cannot  be held within so,
Peace out!

Unity #6 ……………………………................………Annaliese Wilson
No one should judge another,
Just because of his color,
Nor because of his culture,
For therein lies our future.

All should live in harmony;
Put aside greed and envy;
Build a great world together;
Differences do not matter.

Among ourselves we squabble;
The sands beneath us wobble;
Is it not time we unite?
For in unity is might.

Thank you…………………………………Essam Farroukh, Kayla Cruz
